​LOKOJA, KOGI STATE – November 20, 2025

The Kogi State Council for Arts and Culture (KSCAC) has expressed profound gratitude to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for the prompt release of funds necessary for the state’s participation in the upcoming 2025 National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST).

​The highly anticipated 38th edition of NAFEST, Nigeria's largest cultural convergence, is scheduled to take place in Enugu State from November 22nd to November 29th, 2025.

​The timely release of the funds has ensured that the Kogi State contingent is able to finalize preparations, logistics, and transportation well ahead of the national event. This crucial support is viewed as a clear demonstration of Governor Ododo’s unwavering commitment to promoting the rich, diverse cultural heritage of the Confluence State and empowering its talented youth.

​Speaking on the development, the newly appointed executive Director of the Kogi State Council for Arts and Culture Mrs Elizabeth Amade stated that the council is deeply appreciative of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo’s leadership and his clear prioritization of culture as a critical tool for development, unity, and atrategic engagement. This prompt financial backing is unprecedented and is a huge morale booster for our contingent. It signifies that the Governor does not just talk about promoting culture; he actively invests in it.

 The Kogi contingent is now fully prepared and focused on bringing home the coveted overall prize, showcasing the best of Igala, Ebira, Okun, and other cultures to the nation.

​NAFEST serves as a vital platform for cultural exchange, national unity, and the discovery of new talent. Kogi State’s participation is essential not only for showcasing its unique traditions but also for attracting cultural tourism and investment back into the state.

​The KSCAC assures the Governor and the people of Kogi State that the contingent will represent the state with dedication, excellence, and pride, demonstrating the  "Spirit of the confluence" on the national stage in Enugu.
